Made with depth and meaning

Glendalough Wild Botanical Gin

To make this extraordinary gin, we forage wild botanicals in the Wicklow mountains all year round. Geraldine Kavanagh, our full time forager, brings the wild, fresh botanicals to the distillery within hours of foraging where small-batch slow-distillation is used to tease out the delicate botanical flavours.

Glendalough Wild Botanical Irish Gin serves the taste of ‘a year in every bottle’ and perfectly captures a place in time, with four seasons of foraging in wild Wicklow encapsulated in each bottle.

Tasting Notes

NOSE

Fresh notes of juniper, citrus, pine – a forest clearing in spring.

TASTE

Cool and mellow at first; hints of Summer flowers, wild Autumn fruits, warm spice.

FINISH

Long and sylvan with hints of warm Winter spices.

Created in homage to the bountiful valley of Glendalough in County Wicklow, the bottle has been designed to look as though it has been picked straight from the Wicklow forest floor.

Full-time Forager Geraldine Kavanagh’s care for the land is preserved with a woven pattern sitting at the base of the bottle, representing the handwoven basket with which she forages daily. From here, wild botanicals grow and are beautifully embossed around the bottle. Look closely and you will find reverent nods to Glendalough’s ancient past including the monastery archway, seven churches and deer stone. In this way, our bottle is transformed into a secret map, for those who know how to use it.

The inspiration for the flavour of our gin comes from the scents, sights and tastes of Glendalough and it's my job to put that essence of place into the bottle.
